Author Advocate Mediation
The main mission of the Authors Advocates (AA) is to ensure a fair review process. To that aim, the AA mediation can be requested exclusively for the following reasons related to factual errors:
- My submission receives less than 3 reviews.
- A review is mostly empty.
- There might be a data entry error (e.g., the review is not for my submission).
- The reviewer asked to refer to/compare against a paper that is either unpublished (e.g., on arXiv) or is published after the MM'26 deadline.
- The review is suspected to contain AI hallucinations (e.g. cited a non-existent or fabricated reference).
- The reviewer's summary is copied directly from the paper's abstract.
- The review contains unprofessional, hostile, or dismissive language.
For all other aspects (internal contradictory statements, extreme ratings without justification, misunderstandings, lack of reviewer expertise), including scientific issues, please address the Area Chair. As a reminder, the Author Advocates will not attend any matters outside the list above, and will not reply to any e-mail.
The AA Mediation is a precious resource offered at ACM Multimedia. As such, it should be requested with care and in reasonable quantities (e.g. for the reasons listed above). Any abuse of this resource could lead to the rejection of the paper at the discretion of the organisation committee of ACM Multimedia 2026.
